Artikkel: Gradering av plater

Gradering er basert på Goldmine standard:

  (SS) Still Sealed

 (M) Mint ... I don't grade anything mint. I don't believe it exists.

(NM) Near Mint ... This is my highest grade. Other dealers may list this as (M-)Mint Minus.
The record is opened but looks unplayed and the cover is almost perfect.

(VG++) Very Good Plus Plus ... I use this grade infrequently. This is just one step below
NM. I may use this grade if there are one or two tiny marks of some sort that I feel just
slightly degrades the record and/or cover from being Near Mint.

(VG+) Very Good Plus ... Sometimes referred to as "Excellent". A record that has been
handled and played very infrequently or very carefully. Slight indications of use.

(VG) Very Good ... Used but not abused. A VG record will display visible signs of handling
and playing, such as loss of vinyl lustre, surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails.
It should not prevent the listener from enjoying the audio aspect of the disc, but there will
no doubt be noise (pops, clicks, or background hiss) when a VG record is played. Usually a
cover, like a disc, is VG when a variety of problems are evident. Ring wear, seam splits, bent
corners, loss of gloss on the photo, stains, etc. An aggravated combination of two or three
of these problems - never all of them - would cause a sleeve to be graded VG.

 (G) Good ... A G record will be very scratchy, noisy and basically can be used as a filler till
something better comes along. It may have a dirty label, label tears, stickers, writing, etc.
The price reflects the condition, however, all G records will play through without skipping.

The addition of (+) or (-) to a grade indicates a degree slightly above or below the grade.
